Trumpet and flugel horn player Ben Thomas has performed with a diverse range of contemporary artists from the world of jazz, pop and classical music. "Very impressive and creative" (Jazz Journal).
In 2004 he formed the trio Mosaic which featured legendary pianist Brian Waite and Double Bassist Erika Lyons. "A versatile and creative threesome" (Humphrey Lyttelton, Radio 2).
In 2008 Ben created the experimental project The Edge. 2009 saw the release of the first album entitled We All Fall Down followed by Dark Scrawls in 2011. The third creation Within This World Within My Mind is due for release in 2012.
The 2012 project sees Ben perform and record a new track each week throughout the year. Check out the latest offering:

As part of The Edge project and the follow-up to We All Fall Down, Dark Scrawls was released in January 2011. The idea and concept for this album was created by Ben Thomas along with all compositions and lyrics.
Dark Scrawls features Emily Wright, Laura Collins, Catherine Sykes and Ruth Hammond (vocals). Ben Thomas (trumpet, flugel horn, trombone and piano). Nicky Jaques and Emily Preston (saxophone). Lee Goodall (bass clarinet), Tom Greenhalf (piano), James Chadwick (guitar), Erika Lyons (double bass) and Scott Hammond (drums). Music and lyrics by Ben Thomas.
Dark Scrawls is available from all major digital download and streaming stores and can be purchased as a CD from selected shops (follow links on this site for details).
